I’ve got one more word from Gone Girl. Amy, one of the main characters, is wicked smart (and I mean wicked); she’s sent me to the dictionary several times.
Here’s the snippet from Gone Girl. Amy is watching a TV talk show about herself:

ooooh…I love this word. The lilacs blooming outside the window are the the apotheosis of spring. I love them! I’m going to try and use this word more. And yes, Gone Girl Amy is truly wicked and so fun to read 🙂 Also, loved your previous post. I too need to be more generous with by books; I’m way too possessive for the same reasons you are!

Gone Girl is on my tbr pile – I want to get to it before the movie comes out – and now you’ve made me even more excited to read it. 🙂 Apotheosis is such a great word! I just finished rereading Dune for the umpteenth time, so I would say it’s the apotheosis of sci-fi.
